Grandparents Day & a Club Penguin Competition

Research from the Grandparents Association shows that 40% of grandparents want more contact with their grandchildren. Whilst the increasing presence of technology in our children’s lives might suffer a bad press, in this interactive age it is undeniably a great way of staying in touch when too many miles stretch family bonds.

As children grow up they will want to interact directly with their grandparents via technology. Club Penguin is a virtual playground for children. Millions of children enjoy playing games and meeting friends here wherever in the world they are. It is also a great place for grandparents to virtually play with their grandchildren – something they sorely miss out on when distance prevents too many visits.

Grandfather David Hall explains how he relies on Club Penguin to enjoy quality time with his grandchildren who now live in Australia

Club Penguin Puffle Series 6 Orange

“Club Penguin is a lifeline – it’s just a really fun way for me to play with my two grandchildren who moved to Australia from Dublin 6 years ago. Max is now 12 and Isabella 9 so they love playing online – it’s the world they have grown up in. Of course we enjoy pictures and videos of the children but I really miss just playing with them and spending time with them – especially now they are older. We can do that on Club Penguin even though we are the other side of the world – albeit virtually!

Social networking is here to stay and a great way to introduce your kids to it in a safe and fun way is via Club Penguin. Kids can create their own penguin and join the community, chat and play; whilst filtered chat and 24 hour live moderators mean peace of mind for parents.

Sounds like a great idea. My little boy is so lucky to have his grandparents in the same town as us and I love seeing his relationship with them and how much they enjoy spending time with him. @misslongstockin

I used Club Penguin and Moshi Monsters to illustrate to my children in a safe way that not everyone is as they say online. I joined Moshi Monsters with a profile of a 10 year old girl …which clearly I am not…!! Have to say though, as a 10 year old girl I really am enjoying Club Penguin and Moshi!
