Have you heard of PIWoP?
PIWoP is a very cool tool for those of us who like to get the very best of deals.
Let me tell you all about it.
In a nutshell….
“PIWoP (Price I Want To Pay) is a price drop alert tool that allows users to create lists of items they would like to buy but can’t quite afford yet. You set the amount you are willing to pay for an item and the tool notifies you when it has dropped to your desired purchasing price or below.”
Sounds fabulous, yes?
I think so too.
But how does it work?
Well essentially PIWoP is both a website and a smart phone app that allows you to set price notifications for items that you want to purchase.
Once a sale or price reduction happens (which inevitably they do) you will then get an alert telling you that the item or items you want are on sale. Using PIWoP saves you time from having to keep an eye on sales and other price changes. For example, I know I want a little portable photo printer. I keep popping to amazon and around various websites to see if the price has deropped to my desired price. I find this both time-consuming and annoying. I want them to TELL ME the price has dropped rather than me having to keep searching. This is where PIWoP comes in really handy.
You can either choose the smart phone app or the web browser and registering is really simple. You can also log in using Facebook if you prefer. You can sign up through this link: https://piwop.com/register.php and really it is as easy as that.
Once you have registered your account you can either download the browser extension or app. I spend all day, pretty much every working day, at my PC so the browser extensions definitely the best option for me.
You then simply start adding items to your PIWoP list by searching for them on retailers’ websites.
Then, when you have an item loaded, you simply click on the extension on your browser to bring up the alert menu. Next you just set it up to whatever price you want and make sure to save it. PIWoP will now alert you when the item’s price is reduced. You can add as many items as you like.
Isn’t that completely GENIUS?
There is a very simple how to video on the site to walk you through it.
So handy for Christmas
Christmas can be so expensive and yet in the run up to Christmas from time to time there are some über sales, aren’t there? 3 for 2’s, a weekend flash sale, etc. So you don’t miss out PIWoP is such a handy tool to have at your fingertips. I know for example that I want to buy my daughter some Lego but I do not want to pay full price for it – so just by using PIWoP I can be alerted when it does hit the price I am willing to pay and I can snap it up them.
Perfect.
How much does it cost?
Your first PIWoP is free, so you can easily get started without it costing you anything and have a go. Only after you have received your second price drop alert, so you have saved already, there is a subscription (currently £4.79 twice a year).

With three November babies and then Christmas on top of that, I have a feeling this is going to be my go to app this year
