The Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards 2010 gave their customers the chance to vote for their favourite travel services providers over a number of categories – most recommended airline for travelling with babies and most family friendly hotel included. This year over 24,000 people cast their votes with the incentive of being in with a chance of winning two weeks airport parking, an overnight stay before their trip or an airport lounge before they fly. The winners are announced at a ceremony in London tomorrow evening.
This got me thinking how important it is to us that not only are travel services budget friendly when we have little ones but they so need to be child friendly too. I haven’t yet flown with my kids (chance would be a fine thing) but I have just come back from Butlins in Bognor Regis is one of the most child friendly places I have ever been too. Doors were automatic, wide enough for pushchairs, lifts were generous and many of the rooms had a little bunk bed with own tv area within one large main bedroom. It was so easy being there with little ones.
A few weeks ago we stayed in a guest house that had, awkward stairs, no lift, cramped kids bedrooms and a reception with too posh sofas and breakable stuff. AGGGH!
Being family friendly is a MUST when you have a little one. Butlins would have got my vote for a top family friendly hotel! Where would you recommend?
