A Gift Guide for Dads

A Gift Guide for Dads

I never know what to get my hubby for his birthday or Christmas. He really isn’t materialistic and treats himself to the things he wants mostly. Once or twice a year he buys a  few play station games and a few cds. Other than that he ‘ s not one for stuff.

If you really pushed him on a gift he’d have a good bottle of whiskey.

As I’m sure you can gather this makes birthday and Christmas shopping for him a real problem.

I like to get small gifts from the kids too and when other people ask me what he would like I get stumped. So this year (he doesn’t read this don’t worry) I thought we might go for a theme.

Food is always a winner and my husband particularly likes unusual cheeses.

Over at Treat Republic I found this lovely cheese board

The great thing about  giving a foodie gift is you then have lots of gift ideas for others. To go with the board someone else could but him a good wine, the kids could get him a few cheeses, someone else a cheese storage pot, some chutney or chills, perhaps he could have a selection of crackers in his stocking, the ideas go on.

Another idea might be football which he loves to play with my son,,.. we could buy him and away kit and encourage others who ask for ideas to buy an accompanying scarf, gloves, perhaps some game tickets and maybe we could put an an inexpensive team pen in a stocking.

Themes can embrace the expensive and the cheap but what they do is give you ideas, And when it comes a gift guide for dads a startinbg poiint is essential.

Do you have any good theme ideas?
