Review: Leapfrog Tag Interactive World Map

Tag Interactive World Map

A few months ago I reviewed the leapfrog tag reading system remember that? the one where you use the little green pen over the words to give your child audio support and sound effects. We loved it!  Well Leapfog have continued to add on to the tag reading system range by developing a great game to also work with the tag pen.

This is a jumbo sized (fill your kitchen table) thick board 2 sided map. I love jumbo sized toys you can all get involved!  I also love sturdy eductaional toys particularly when they only cost £14.99!  This is truly a great value toy.

The map is fabulous fun and has a host of games you can play together as a family. there are actually over 30 games and activities. My son is 6 and it has absorbed him for hours. I even found myself playing wih it on my own after the kids had gone to bed!

There are more than 30 interactive games and activities.

Here are a few of the fun features:

  • Map racer – this timed quiz tests your knowledge of the world’s countries with three different levels
  • Treasure hunt- follow the clues to locate the “mystery country”
  • Continents and countries – this timed quiz tests your continents and countries knowledge
  • Let’s explore – go on exciting expeditions with your hosts Reggie Rover and Sara Sahara
  • Travel time – touch any two children on the map to find out how far apart they are and how long it takes to travel between them
  • Kids like me – learn about where children live, what they eat for breakfast and how to say “hello” in their language!

All you have to do is download the audio for the game onto the tag reader and you are off. This is a great game for learning whilst having fun. My son really enjoyed it and I am sure this will get a lot of use. He has very proudly shown Great Grandma and Grandad his special map game. I think it feels quite a ‘grown up’ toy to him and yet it is loads of fun and really easy for a 6 year old to use.

As an added incentive children can earn online rewards and parents can connect the Tag Reader to the online LeapFrog Learning Path to see what their child is learning.

Appropriate for children ages 4 to 8.

Big thumbs up from us. This will definately last both my children and will  be a great learing resource as well as treasured game.

The tag reading system is avaible for the Leapfrog Store price £24.99

Tag Sold Separately to map.

The interactive world map is also avaibale form the Leapfrog Store priced £14.99
