Today – an Aero Challenge
I was challenged to pair Aero with another taste sensation to create a wonderful new flavour. Aero bubbles have been given a makeover and I was sent some minty/choc bubbles (yum) as the inspiration for my perfect pair challenge
Hmmm. I like a challenge.
Aero also sent me even more aero (fab!) a bunch of Lakeland goodies to cook with and a fabulous book entitled The Flavour Thesaurus (the perfect gift for a foodie
I adore this book, it is a thesaurus full of ideas for flavour pairings, recipes and ideas for the creative cook. It is genius idea and it really inspired me.
I looked up chocolate and came up with a host of possible pairings.
I had in mind avocado..it is after all my very favourite fruit/veg (never sure!) it is a bit nutty and smooth and I was thinking of maybe a mousse?
According to the thesaurus raw food lovers make mousse from coco powder and avocado sometimes so I thought hmm why not use melted chocolate.
I found a whizzy little recipe online for chocolate mousse and here is my avocado paired take on the recipe:
a nice big dollop of whipped cream.
a bar of plain aero and a few minty aero bubbles melted in the microwave and stirred
a scoop of avocado very well mashed and mushed.
Stir Stir Stir.
The receptionist at our local leisure centre told me for her 7 years old birthday she had a bunch of kiddies over to make pizzas and chocolate sundaes and to paint nails and do tattoos Sundaes…what a fab idea! Inspired by this I sat the children down with a bunch of lovely ingredients and let them create the dish of which our choc avocado mousse was to take part.
Here we have ……..The Choocado Sundae!
which contains ice cream, meringues, chocado mousse, aero bubbles, chocolate brownies and mint for garnish.
what do you think of my Aero Challenge results?
