It’s Friday competition time – Win a stunning canvas print of your choice

I don’t know about you but I adore photos of my kids but am often guilty of leaving them on the computer and never actually doing anything with them. I then go to other peoples houses and look jealously at their gorgeous prints  that adorn the walls. I have always wanted a canvas print but always thought they were way out of my price range.

When  Canvas Dezigns offered me a print for review I was delighted. I have to say the speed and quality of the product completely surpassed my expectations. I simply sent them a photo and wow!

Canvas Dezigns

Good strong colour, and a really great quality product.

Canvas dezign are cutting edge because of

  • Canvas quality – they  buy British. and  use European pine bars
  • All their frames are supplied with wedges for tightness and now even hanging brackets.
  • They have a speedy courier service and they keep you updated.

I would add the prices are extremely competitive. Our print of Lise is  50 by 50 cm…large and fab and would cost merely £35.99 That’s not bad for such a spectacluar piece of wall art

Do pop over to their website and check them out. It is so easy to order what you want and it makes a brilliant gift.

Competition time.

As it is ‘Mummy’s taking care of themselvs’ month on baby budgeting we have the most BRILLIANT Canvas Dezign competition for you. Tell us what picture you would pop on canvas and why and you can win your photo to canvas print in ANY SIZE you like!!!!! (and they make ’em REALLY big.)

The winning entry will be judged by myself and Katherine from Canvas Dezign. Competion will close next friday (June 16th) at 4 pm.  Over to you……

If I won I would have a very special picture of me and my daughter put onto canvas.. The photo is of my daughter reaching out to me after having her 3rd life saving heart operation at Great Ormond Street. She was 9 months old at the time. It’s one of those once in a lifetime snapshots that could not have been timed more perfectly

  5. July 9, 2010 / 12:58 pm

Photos are memories to treasure forever,
from little to big in sun and snowy weather,
    first steps,first smiles,first funny face,
mounted on canvas and in pride of place!

Our miracle baby, miss betsy (our joy)
is soon to be joined by a little baby boy,
three years we waited-it was just us,
then in they both came together (like a bus!)
so in answer to the question ‘what pic would you see?’
it’ll be the one we take as a family!
September 09′ came betsy and soon will our boy,
our pictures will look fab on canvas and bring such joy!

I would print on the photo of my son swimming with Dolphins in Florida. Even though hes older now, he is petrified of swimming after nearly drowning at a very young age so it was a great day when he achieved this.

I would choose a stunning picture of my one and only daughter Keira , it just epitomises her personality ; vibrant , fun , super-fun!
All the reasons I love her.
    This is a lovely competition!
Good luck to all the entrants 🙂

  10. July 9, 2010 / 9:42 pm

I would put a picture of me and my husband as we have photos all over the house of th children and none of us together. It would have to be a crazy pose one which reminded me of the importance of us and that we were together before kids – yes life before kids – cant remember that much!

  11. July 10, 2010 / 9:02 am

Oh no, my comment didnt save…

After much waffling I said, i would probably choose a photo of my brothers and I when we were little (all under 6ish). It is a lovely photo and i realised recently that I dont have any of “us” up…. would look great on canvas as it has that “old” effect!

    Thanks for fab comp!

I would put a photo of my son at a freind’s wedding onto the canvas. He is in his first smart outfit and is grinning at the camera. Its one of those lovely photos that lots of families have that make you just break out into a smile when you see it. I would hang it on the wall in our room so its the first thing I see in the morning and it will mean every day begins with a smile.

  13. July 10, 2010 / 12:15 pm

    Hi all

Conrad from Canvasdezign here. Cannot wait to view all the entrants to the competition and print your free canvas. It will be printed on our brand new Epson 9900 which is being installed on Tuesday.

    Good luck

  14. July 10, 2010 / 1:27 pm

What a lovely prize! Obviously would love to win it and if I did it would have to feature my two girls, who are 1 and 3 – we are guilty of taking pics and just storing them on the pc but not having many around the house and it would be fab to have a lovely piece of art like this.

BUT having read the comments above I actually think there are worthier recipients – not least Lisa King above – can picture that perfect moment of her daughter reaching out to her after her operation and think this should win.

I would love a print of my big family all together, we’d have to get it taken when the new arrival is here (Which is very soon now) but we’ve never had a family portrait done and it would make an amazing canvas. There will be 7 of us altogether.

    July 10, 2010 / 1:57 pm

I would use a picture I call ‘Larch Road Kids’ it features all the children living in Larch Road, Balham, London in the 1920’s – my late father is in the picture as a child…… It’s an amazing photograph – a sea full of grubby and mischievous faces – historical and somewhat enigmatic – and a reminder that however hard economic times might be becoming now – we are all relatively lucky in our wealth of today….

    July 10, 2010 / 8:46 pm

I’d put a photo of my husband and my two gorgeous girls right next to my bed so that when I wake up I can start the day with a smile every day.

  18. July 10, 2010 / 11:58 pm

I would put a photo of my husband as a child so that Little M can see what his daddy use to look like. As a child I always found my parents baby pictures absolutely fascinating! It was unimaginable that they were once so young and it would be great to have “little daddy’s” picture in the house next to Little M’s photos. Thanks!! x

This is a fab competition, it really makes you think. 3 weeks ago, my 3 children & I were involved in a terrible car accident. I managed to get them all out the car safely. Thankfully they were only battered & bruised, I had fractured my wrist & broken my sternum. After I had got them out the car, we sat down on some grass nearby, I was now on the point of collapse, but my 3 age 5,9, & 12 rallied round like brave angels, talking to emergency services. The police in particular were amazed at their bravery too. I spent a week in hospital recovering, I’m now recovering at home. I have been totally overwhelmed by the courage, strength & bravery demonstrated by all 3 of them & my husband of course! There attitude has been selfless at all times as they have cared for me, they do all the housework & never complain! When the police arrived on the scene that day, they saw the car & thought we were all dead. No one expected us to walk out the car like we did. We’ve been given a 2nd chance. We’ve been looking at photos a lot recently, I would love one of my 4 heroes together, Andrew, my husband, Tess, Noah & Bram. Then when they are at work & school, I can look at them altogether & feel so grateful for them all & the life that we all have together.

Thank you so much & all the best to everyone in the competition.

I would have a canvas of my two children playing together making sandcastles on holiday. They’re 1 and 2.5 now and it’s been hard work with the small age gap and I’ve really struggled at times. It was on holiday however that I realised how lovely it is to have 2 young kids who are close in age and it was the first time that I saw them properly playing together (and holding hands in the back of the car – bless!). Everytime I look at the picture it makes me realise how lucky we are and how it’s all totally worth it.

  21. July 11, 2010 / 6:02 pm

Gosh! I was going to say that I would try and take a decent picture of Chick and I together as we don’t have many because I’m a Single Mum and always behind the camera but after reading Sarah’s entry above I’d really like her to win!!!! What a great comp!!!

  22. July 11, 2010 / 6:40 pm

I would love a picture of my wedding day on canvas to go on my bedroom wall. I’ve been married three years and have never had the cash spare to get myself a nice picture up from our day. I would probably chose a picture of just me and my darling husband, because it is the ‘Mummy’s taking care of themselvs’ month!

I would love to have the pictures I had taken of me when I was pregnant, I had a tasteful clotheless photoshoot with me cradling my bump. I have always had slight hang-ups about my body but looking back at these photo’s reminds me how good I felt about my figure and how happy within myself I was and how amazing the experience of being pregnant truly was. After my daughter was born, I worked hard to get back into shape and now I appreciate and love my body for what it is and everything it has been through. I had wanted to put this picture up in my bedroom, so as I wake each day I can look up at it as a reminder of how pregnancy changed the way I look at life and how much I love my family.

I would get my favourite picture of our daughter done for my other half. Since he’s changed jobs, he no longer has a desk because they have a hot-desking policy. He really misses seeing that picture daily. It is of our daughter last year at my brother’s wedding. She’s dressed in a pretty dress (for a change), lovely headband and pretty pink slippers, but is in a world of her own playing on the grass with her teddy bear!

My picture would have to be an old black and white picture of me and my Dad. I was about 18 moths old, so taken in the middle of 1982-ish. My Dad is 60 soon and I think it having this would bring back some really happy memories of when I was little. My Dad has the big 80s sideburns and wide leg turn-ups and the picture is so natural, I love it. To me, it sums up my early years and reminds me of how lucky we are and what we have achieved. Love you Dad! x

I would get a canvas of the first photo taken of my twins together. They’ve just finished nursery, ready to start primary school in September, and it seems so long ago that they were so tiny, and yet seems that they’ve grown up so quickly. I’d love to be able to see that picture daily.

For me it would be hard to choose between 2 pics 1st one of my daughter and both my godsons they meant the world to me and nothing can compare to the feeling of giving birth to my daughter and the 2nd is a picture of my fiance and my daughter to remind me that after all the hardship we have come through with his abusive stepfather attacking me and even though we are struggling financially i still have all the riches in the world when i look at their faces

I would adore to have the biggest picture ever of our new baby boy Hanson. he is the cutest, smiliest bundle in the world – i guess just like everyone elses cutest smiliest bundle then !! lol His smile every time i come home from work cheers me up if ive had a bad day – to have that smile permanently on the wall would be a huge treat.

I would get a canvas made up of my 2 gorgeous children. It would be the focal point in any room in the house. I just love to look at pictures of them both. It makes everyday stresses and woes vanish when you look into their innocent eyes. If I could freeze time I would and cherish it forever. A canvas truly makes a photograph a piece of art.

Recently we took our 20 month old to the seaside for the first time and it was an awesome experience. He loved the sand – must have been like sandpit heaven for him ;0) He was a bit unsure about the sea itself though but when he & daddy where engrosed in the wonders of the sea and sand, mummy sneakily took a memorable photo – it really is amazing, I wish I could describe it. Just the two of them at the the waters edge, the brown sea sand in the foreground, the immense sea following suit and then the fluffy grey clouds hanging in the sky, the two of them looking quite miniscule in comparison. Hands down, this is the photo I would love to stick on a canvas and remember as his first day at the beach, my two favourite guys, just shooting the breeze.

We have our first baby on the way and have been creating a baby diary to give to her when she’s 18 and a scrap book of events and family moments to also show her what happened during her early years.

I would love an image of my wife and I together, while she’s pregnant or just after giving birth to add to this collection of memorabilia 🙂

I would love to have a canvas photo of my little girl & her dad. My husband eye sighted is failing & has kidney failure so he’s on dialysis & we don’t know if he’ll get a kidney & pancreas transplant in time. We’d been told he couldn’t have children naturally so when we were told we could have 1 nhs funded attempt at ivf it was a god send but we couldn’t afford a second go if it had failed. Thankfully it worked but then at 13 weeks while I was out walking my labrador holly we were attacked by 2 other dogs, when they knocked me down holly fought back to protect me, luckily ella was strong enough and held on in there. When I watch her sitting on her daddy’s knee it breaks my heart not knowing how long he’ll see her for or how long they’ll have together.

I would love to win a canvas print as I’m really starting to get into photography as a serious hobby & it be really good to see what the canvas prints really look like in the flesh (so to speak). I think I would either use one of the pictures I managed to take of my 2 sons & nephew when we were back in London recently (we don’t get to see my family that often) & I finally got one of them all looking at the camera! Or possibly one of the pictures I took of Lake Windermere last month to remind us of our first family holiday as a family of 4 not 3.

  38. Barbara Smith

I would like a stunning picture of Lake Windermere to put in my bedroom because it would be lovely to wake up to beautiful scenery every morning 😀

  45. Emma Reid
    July 15, 2010 / 7:54 pm

My picture would be my twin boys..
I have the most wonderful picture of them hugging looking straight at Mummy
smiling and laughing.. Normally they are fighting over their favourite toy lol
But everytime i look it my heart melt.. They were born 3 mths premature and we didnt think they were going to survive at first.. but now… they are so healthy and happy.
I woluld hang the picture in the living room… pride of place where all my visitors can see x

    July 15, 2010 / 8:09 pm

I would like a picture of myself, my husband, our two boys and the dog all together. Smiling! Normally our house is crazy with arguments, shouting, rushing around, kids breaking things, dog chewing everything in sight etc etc! So when all this chaos is going on around me, I can look at my picture on the wall and dream…..

    July 15, 2010 / 9:20 pm

I have a picture that i think would look fantastic on canvas, it’s of my 6 year old son. He took the picture himself after falling off his bike (he wanted to send it to his daddy at work), anyway it’s just his eyes, nostrils and fat lip… its totally overexposed so looks like it was ment, it never fails to make people smile and would be ageless on any wall.

    July 15, 2010 / 10:17 pm

My little boy was born prematurely and has achieved so much that I would put his very first picture on canvas – in it he is covered in tubes and wires but to us it is a true reminder of what a little star he is x
