How to win kids competitions in magazines

I’m going to tell you a well-kept secret…….

A few weeks ago my little princess aged 2 1/2 fell in love with a little pink pony on the cover of a magazine and charmed me into the purchase.  She then persuaded me to purchase her a luxury fairy cake in a cafe… AAAGGHH….she had almost blown my budget for the week.

I was determined to make the very most of that fairy cake and magazine so although a tad old for her we read every page in detail (twice) and I shared her pretty cake. Together we entered a little competition and (determined to recoup some losses) I posted it off.

Well blow me….she won!

Several weeks later a horses head arrived for my princess in the post and she was ECSTATIC…you can change its hair colour with magic water and plait it. cut it, brush and bead it, she ( and I ) love it! I had to speak to the people at I Love Ponies about postage and  I asked them how we had won. ‘What do you mean?’ the lovely lady on the phone said. ‘Well,’ I explained ‘ a few years ago I entered my son into a Thomas the Tank engine competition in a Thomas magazine and he won toms of fab trainstuff…really loads of great prizes. That and the pony competition are the only ones my kids have ever entered..’. ‘Oh’ she said,  ‘Well that’s simple. Hardly anyone EVER enters kids magazine competitions- no wonder you won.’

AHA!  What a well kept secret! I will be entering lots from now on …..and I think you should too cos this is how to win kids competitions in magazines

Congratualtions, oh and that head looks a little strange, almost as strange as my girls world when I was growing up
