Wild Swimming book

(currently avaiable on Amazon at £10.47 , click through on pic to buy)

This is the most amazing book. It is thick, glossy and full of stunning, inspirational photos of places all over Britain where you can swim, paddle, go tubing and even build a woodland sauna! etc. It is an absolute treasure trove of delights. I had no idea we had so many waterfalls and gorgeous places to swim all over this lush land of ours.

The book states that British rivers lakes and waterfalls are safer and more accessible than at anytime in living memory and the health benefits of a dip are well known. I would add that water and children are natural friends and children delight in natural wonders more than any paid for plastic joy they could possibly be presented with. Best of all these fabulous places are FREE resources just waiting to be found.

The book is packed with tons of useful and practical information such as postcode, town, nearest train station, water quality and general details of routes, personal experience and history of the featured place. It is a truly unique and wildly original guide that is just perfect for families on a budget but wanting something very special.

It is also well written and handy, It covers safety, ecology, water fun and wildlife and the featured water areas are grouped into regions so you can dip in and out (no pun intended.)

My son Frankie aged 5 said  ‘I thinks it’s really good because you get to see the pictures of the places you can go swimming and it looks really great’ He looked at this book for ages and chose loads of places he would lilke to go visit!

A really lovely book and it would make a fabulous gift or family resource.

My 3 yearl old daughter Isabelle was born in water, started going swimming with me when she was 3 months old and looooves going swimming. She is very confident and loves jumping into water and swimming around. I love when she is without her armbands and dives under water, I lift her up, but the facial expressions she makes….unforgetable 😉

My daughter has been ‘swimming’ from just a few months old. She loves it. It is usually daddy that takes her and its their special time together (and my peace and quiet time!)

Yesterday we all went to the pool together and it was the first time I’d seen her in the water for a couple of months. I was amazed at how much she’d come on, she’s so confident splashing around and jumping in off the side.

    1. Seeing his little face light up when he achieves something.
    2. The smiles and enjoyment.
    3. Watching him amazed at how Grandma can swim whilst shes training for her channel swim and we’re playing in the shallow end.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!

I started taking my baby swimming when he was 5 weeks old. This is my favourite part about our swimming: – he loves to be in the water and is as happy under the water as he is on top!

I cannot wait until he is old enough to go swimming in the sea and rivers like we did as children.
