A new hobby thanks to Pinterest

It is no secret to anyone how much I love spending my time on Pinterest. I think it’s probably one of my favourite things to do. I adore seeking out new and fresh ideas, and adding my own ideas to the huge visual library that Pinterest is.

One thing I hadn’t really banked on was finding a new hobby on Pinterest.

Flowers are one of my great loves. When I was a child my home was always full of flowers . We had little money no phone or car but fresh flowers we had a-plenty. My dad worked on the markets selling fruit form time to time so knew a lot of flower sellers. This helped keep us forever in fresh fruit and floral splendour.

I always saw it as a sign of how much my dad loved my mum and his home when her bought home flowers.

So fresh flowers have my heart and to walk in a garden soothes my spirit.

I have a lovely board on Pinterest called Beautiful Garden where I collate all the beautiful garden images I come across. It is filled with enchanting images of gardens I love filled with amazing flowers.

Makes me so happy to look at and collate this board. It gives me so many ideas and these days I spend much more time in the garden than I used too.

My husband often brings me home flowers and I often wish I knew better how to arrange them.

I have decided to really develop this interest and have a go at learning to arrange flowers this year. I really am inspired by the many tutorials I have found on Pinterest and have decided to keep it simple to start with. Love the idea of having my home filled with these living works of floral art.

Rather than buy lots of books on the subject Pinterest lets me search for simple arrangements using flowers I have to hand. It really is the most excellent reference point for a new interest.

Watch this space my fabulous flower arrangements will be on display soon.

I’ve always loved flowers, too, and have long toyed with the idea of completing a flower arranging course, yet I’d never even thought of doing it this way, despite my Pinterest addiction! Thanks very for the suggestion, and I hope you enjoy it 🙂 x
