10 wonderful things to do in Florence

For my birthday this year, I was bought a bucket list book where I have begun to list my dreams including 10 wonderful things to do in Florence

Many of my dreams involve travel.

I haven’t seen much of the world really. We didn’t travel as children as my family were not wealthy. As a teen I lived a while in Israel and spent summers in America. I have holidayed to Greece and Spain and I have seen much of England. Much of the world is left for me to explore though and I long to do so.

I went to Rome once with my lovely Aunty Jane and I loved it. We were there just 3 days but we ate the most delicious food and visited the most amazing buildings and town squares. I quite fell in love with it. Italy is a place I would love to see more of.

A trip to Florence has been placed right near the top of my bucket list. Florence is somewhere I would love to visit for so many reasons..here are just a few.

10 wonderful things to do in Florence

The Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi gallery is one of the most important museums in the world and it houses the finest collection of renaissance art in the world  Botticelli, Titian, Michelangelo and da Vinci. How amazing would it be to visit there.

The Bardini gardens

Florence is famous for it’s beautiful gardens and this one is meant to be exceptional. Set on a hillside it is famous for its stunning views over the city.

Wine tasting

Oh wine and cheese tours abound in and around Florence and I would just love to take one of these tours. The Tuscan countryside looks so beautiful.

Michealangelo’s David

I would go to Florence just to see this amazing piece of art. David is 17ft tall and was carved from one single piece of marble 500 years ago. Just amazing. I would love to see it. It is housed in the Gallerie dell’Academia

Piazza Santo Spirito

This Piazza is home to a proper street market and oh how I love a street market! What treasures you might find in Florence!

Hotel Brunelleschi

Ah, this is a stunning boutique hotel in Florence It has the most wonderful reviews and is located right in the heart of the city. It looks just gorgeous for a romantic city break.

Icecream and Pizza

What can I say, the food draws me to Florence as much as anything else. Did you know it is possibly the birth place of gelato?  That means you just have to try if you are there doesn’t it!

Spiaggia Sull’Arno,

Florence gets hot, hot, hot so what better way to cool off then a trip to this cool urban beach on the river with DJs and beach yoga.

Designer stores and artisan crafts make Florence a shoppers delight.

Florence really does have it all and I cannot wait to get there one day for a visit!

Have you been to Florence? I would love to hear what you enjoyed most about your trip if you did.
