Anchor Butter is bringing back Elevenses!
Well… It never really went anywhere; it’s just been a little forgotten. We want to inspire people who feel the need to have a nice little sit, with a cup of tea and a nibble at around 11 o’clock.
You might call us crazy, but we find that a buttered crumpet or slice of cake at this time of day is just what’s needed. The kids are at school, you’ve made countless packed lunches, the dogs’ been for a walk and before you start your day (as if it hasn’t already been going for hours!) you need a bit of a recharge.
We want people to embrace this mid morning snack, in all its glory and we want you to join us! To help bring Elevenses back we’d like to offer all the readers of Baby Budgeting the chance to win a full set of Anchor memorabilia! It has to be toasted current teacakes, sometimes with jam on sometimes with cheese on but always with Anchor butter!

plain old toast with lashings of butter, i like my toast to be a little cool before i put my butter on, my fella thinks thats weird!

I know its 1:30 in the afternoon, but there was an assembly at school this morning so my day is running late, just finding time for my cuppa after my Monday bake to restock the cake & biscuit tins, the freezer with meals for the week & a few little extras for Mother. Bless her she’s 80 years old as independant as ever but its nice to give her a meal she can just reheat – even though she tell’s me my hands are too warm for making pastry!
Never seen her leave alot though.

I absolutely LOVE croissants with Anchor (light though as put on a STONE over Xmas!) Ham and Leerdammer Light slices, it’s delicious!

elevenses? that’s lunchtime surely, which will comprise of many things bread based which in turn will require lashings of butter, enough to keep me going until 2-ish, more of the same, which will power me up for the school run.
It would be difficult to choose my favorite Elevenses snack, theres biscuits, cake, toast, but maybe the best is crumpets with butter, and a bit of peanut butter for luck, and if they are really hot the butter drips through the holes…Its making my tummy rumble so bye for now…
