When I grow up I want to be …

When I grow up …

I often ask my children what they want to be when they grow up. I am so interested in how their ideas change and grow.

My son has been stuck for some time now on being a footballer when he grows up. He trains every wednesday and his team (The Warriors) play every Sunday. Come rain wind or sleet he turns up and puts all his energy and effort into doing his best. His attitude make s me so proud. I have watched this team of boys grown over the last 4 years n skill awareness of each other and loyalty and determination. It really has been a pleasure.

The toy I chose for him from House of Fraser to represent his growing up wish was this fabulous table football set. (£15)

That will help him hone those skills!

My daughter likes to be indoors  int he warmth and spend her time being creative. When she grow sup she says she wants to be an artist or teach art. She loves colour and texture and experimenting with different types and styles of drawing. I try and really give her lots of opportunities to paint and draw and sculpt and collage as I can.  House of fraser had some lovely items to support this growing up dream first of all I chose this adorable kids apron (£12.80)

Now she can really go for it and get as messy as she likes.

I also chose this adorable little Hamleys artists backpack for her from House of Fraser which is a real bargain at £13.50 Artist`s backpack

It has felt tips, crayons, pens and a sketch book which she can take out and about with her and keep them safely stored. Isn’t it lovely ?

And finally I chose this fun Draw Something game from Hasbro so we could all get involved in and encourage  and have fun withdrawing in our home.  You have to guess what is being drawn ..should be great fun over Christmas! This costs £8  originally £21.99!)

I am so pleased House of Fraser offered me the opportunity to pick some relevant items to review. I was amazed at their range. It has made me think about my children’s dreams and how to support them through play.

You know there was quite recently a study that showed that people often end up in a profession similar to their childhood dream profession. It may not be the exact same profession (otherwise all boys would become footballers and little girls would become princesses) but one that requires similar skills and abilities. What did you want to be?
