Tots 100 Home Renovation Challenge: A Writing Space Just for Me

Today – A Writing Space Just for Me
This is where I work now

It’s dark, dreary, cluttered, windowless. Uninspiring.

A Writing Space Just for Me

I have always had a dream that when I write I can look out on a garden full of flowers and be inspired. I long for A Writing Space Just for Me
Currently I work facing a wall shoved into the tiny corner of my kitchen. I have neither enough room or a window to dream from.
I am really lucky to have a (slightly tatty and freezing )  conservatory, I would love my conservatory to have a table in by the window looking out on the garden so I could work form there.  But it is cold and draughty and the electrics don’t work properly and it can only be lit by a lamp. A home renovation to make this room right for me to work in and the kids to play in would be amazing.
I would need advice…do we need a normal roof putting on there. new electrics? Can we change the sliding doors (which always worry me with little fingers?) I have lots of ideas but I need an expert. Oh, how lovely it would be.  A lovely place for me to work would be divine. I am sure it would lighten my heart and inspire me to write those stories that I know are bursting to come out.
These images show the light, the colour, the feel, the garden, the vibrancy of my ideas. How different to where I write right now, Now to translate them to space and place I can work.

I would need light and heat, perhaps a new roof? and definitely new doors in my conservatory, plus a big lovely desk (with drawers!) to make this happen. I can dream right…?

Oh how I would love A Writing Space Just for Me

I moved my desk out of the attic room and into the playroom (which never actually gets used for playing!) I now look out at the garden and it has made a big difference. I get more work done around the kids now, although I miss hiding away from everyone upstairs and sometimes the temptation to work over play is too great. Difficult balance, but I hope you get yours right and you work soooo hard Becky!
