The perfect power tool to get your man for 2012 (from a womens perspective!)

In the best PR pitch I ever recevied I was asked if I would like my husband to receive a man iron to review whilst I received a box of pampering goodies so I didn’t get bored. Love it. This made me laugh for days.

What on earth is a man iron?    Apparently this is..

Man iron

This is the 2600 W Power tool for ironing

Apparently his powerful iron comes with the most robust soleplate of all irons. Nothing can scratch this iron while it glides smoothly over your garment. The powerful steam boost helps you to easily blast all creases away.

It sounded great but how on earth was I to persuade my housework shy hubby to test it out ( ‘I do the bins’ is his constant battle cry when I try and encourage him/yell at him/nag him to do more. Anyway for some reason..perhaps because it is a called a power tool, is black and tough looking he decided to have a go. The fact all his shirts are unironed in a big pile may have helped too.

See he has no clue he could make the ironing board higher!

Whilst I went off for a nice pamper with my bath time goodies J put the iron through its paces. He thought it was ‘very easy, why all the fuss about ironing being a pain?’ He did 3 shirts then stopped because the match was on. Do I really live in 2012!

Here are the irons key features:

Steam tip allows you to have steam in hard-to-reach areas

The unique steam tip combines the prominently pointed front of the soleplate with special elongated steam slots in the tip, to reach into the smallest and most difficult areas for the best ironing results.

Drip-stop system keeps your garments spotless while ironing

Drip-Stop system lets you iron delicate fabrics at low temperatures without having to worry about stains from water droplets.

Scratch-resistant, highly durable soleplate

Excellent gliding, excellent scratch resistance, excellent to clean, excellent durability!

J’s overall verdict was: this was really easy to iron between buttons and cuffswith, glided really well and felt smooth. Really powerful and din’t take a lot of effort. feel manly using it? I asked ‘Don’t be silly’ he replied ‘and you better not have vlogged me doing it or took a photo! ‘ As he is my only IT support I had to homour this request hence the body only shot!

Ha! Mine claims he can’t do it in front of the telly because he can’t concentrate. If I fail to iron his shirts he gets one out a day and does it himself, leaving the ironing board out for me to trip over. Calling it a power tool will not change this. But I do quite fancy one for myself 😉
