The amazingly good value Amazon Fire 7

The Amazon Fire 7 Tablet is an incredible value for money device and costs just £49.99.

An unbelievably good price.

Amazon fire 7

It has a huge variety of apps for family entertainment, games and education and I cannot recommend it enough.

The new Amazon Fire 7  was only  launched in June 2017 and we have been lucky enough to get our hands on one to review.  They come in fantastic colours and they are an improved version of Amazon’s bestselling tablet.

They are thinner, lighter and more durable and now they even come with Alexa already built in. I love Alexa and she is SO helpful! She’ll curate me a shopping list, find songs for me and even tell me the weather and that is just for starters.

All this technology at your fingertips in such a stylish and hardy package, for under £50, is pretty awesome!

The Amazon appstore is available on Fire Tablets and it is a treasure trove of goodies.

3 apps we have tried and loved so far are…..

Minion Rush

My daughter is a HUGE minion fan and loves the Despicable Me Minion Rush game that is free form the Amazon app store. It makes her giggle and keeps her entertained which is just fabulous. Who doesn’t love a minion! There are lots of fabulous free games to download in the Amazon app store. In fact the Fire tablets feature instant access to over 800,000 of the most popular free and bestselling apps such as Facebook, Twitter and Spotify, and games such as Minecraft and Candy Crush.

Now that is pretty impressive.

One of my absolutely favourite apps is Netflix where you can now download a host of movies and shows to watch off line for free. My daughter was delighted that when we were waiting at the doctors this week she could just tune in. How perfect for when you are travelling with kids, waiting at activities or needing to keep them absorbed for a long while. I even downloaded one just for me and plan to take myself out for a coffee and movie sometimes soon!

Not all Netflix movies are available for download but an impressive number are (including Matilda and Smurfs which my kids adore!).

Scratch Art

My daughter is a big fan of arts and crafts and has been exploring the free Scratch Art app too and making some lovely pictures. I love to encourage her creativity and  doing it on the tablet gives it another dimension, There are just so many educational apps in the appstore from spelling to reading to writing and lots of quizzes too. This is a really fun way to learn, create and explore and there are endless options. Scratch Art is great!

Additional features.

The Fire has some additional features you would not expect from such an inexpensive tablet.

These are some of my favourites but really there are lots more.

  • It has a 8 hours of battery life and you can choose between 8 or 16 GB of internal storage. It also has  a microSD slot for up to 256 GB of extra storage.
  • I love the sturdiness of this tablet (it’s twice as durable as the ipad mini4.) This is so important when it is a tablet the kids will be using too.
  • Despite being a blogger I am no techy genius but I set this up in mere minutes. Lots of apps are pre-loaded and you just sign in with your amazon account. Simples.
  • You can also of course have Kindle Unlimited, Amazon Music and all sorts of great subscriptions on the Fire. It is full of possibilities!

I have just been telling my husband all about these features and he works in IT and he is absolutely blown away by what you get for the price. My daughter is absolutely loving it and adores the apps she has tried so far.

There is ans extensive selection of family-friendly apps and this really is a tablet for all the family. You can have a profile for each of you and you own apps on each profile. It is very cool.

Do also have a look at the Amazon Fire 7. I have been telling everyone about it as I truly think it’s an absolute bargain and a great tablet for family life.
