Sodastream – fun, fizzy and fabulous!

On a Saturday morning in our house we all troop down the football field to watch my little boy and cheer him on. Saturday afternoons are times for friends and fun and this Saturday my sister bought her 5 kids over for a little play (I struggle with 2!)

We decided to try out my brand new Sodastream. Sodastream had a makeover and is looking very chic in chrome ( you can get red or white as well) We had some interesting new flavours to try out and the kids were very excited.

It turned into a bit of a fizzy party. The kids thought it was great fun to create fizzy drinks from tap water.  I’d never used a Sodastream before but it was really simple and it produced  great noises that delighted the kids!

Okay, so here are our taste testers buiding up a thirst:

We had 5 flavours to try and here is what the kids had to say about them:

Up first we had sugar free cranberry and  raspberry and gorgeous Jasmine was our taster.

Jasmine declared this delicious and gave it the big thumbs up (can you see how sleek and gorgeous the Sodastream is looking  next to Jazz – I think it looks very hi tech!)

Our next tester was the lovely Charlie and she tested  lemon and lime  (an oldie but a goodie)

‘Tasty’ she declared and downed it in one.

Next came the boys, Isaac and Frankie, who had the orange  flavour.

They proclaimed it ‘juicy’ , made lots of slurpy noises and ran off to play.

Next came adorable Alfie and he tried passion fruit and mango (also from the clear range it contains no artifiicial sweeteners, colours or flavours.) Alfie is sweet enough and does not need additives to keep him lively!

‘Refreshing’ he declared (well after a bit of prompting – it’s a big word for 4 year old.)

Last but not least we had mango and apple and Jamie and Tricia who tried mango-apple and declared it ‘mouthwatering’ (he’s very advanced for 11 months!)

In the interest of research I had to try them all and I agreed that these Sodastream drinks tasted fab. The kids unanimously thought so too.  It has an exciting range from traditional flavours like Lemon & Lime, Apple & Cranberry and Raspberry plus old favourites such as Cola and Ginger Ale (makes me think of the famous five! ) as well as sugar-free varieties. Something for everyone.

My Verdict:

As a mum on a budget I absolutely love that the Sodastream gas cylinder makes up to 60 litres of liquid – so it makes it easy for mums to save money by using Sodastream instead of buying cans or bottles.

By using refillable gas canisters by  producing less waste than throwaway bottles and cans Sodastrem is also an environmentally friendly product which is always a huge plus.

We had tons of fun

The verdicts in: FANTASTIC!

Sodastream drinksmakers are available from John Lewis, Comet, Argos, Robert Dyas, Lakeland and selected Asda stores. For more information visit www.Sodastream.co.uk or have a chat on Twitter @SodaStreamuk

Oh we had a soda stream back in South Africa and absolutely loved it. My favorite flavour was cream soda which doesn’t seem to be available here, but I am thinking of getting one again in time for next summer.

    Great post, thanks!
