Myth: I don’t need life insurance protection as I don’t work

I don’t need life insurance…..

If you’re a stay-at-home mum or dad and don’t earn a salary, you might think that you simply don’t need life cover.

Many people assume that life insurance is designed just to protect against the loss of the family breadwinner?

After all, they pay the mortgage, household bills and living costs each month. Right?

WRONG!

A stay-at-home parent makes an enormous, often underestimated contribution, both practically and financially and should be protected too.

Any family would be massively impacted, if you were no longer around.

Think about all the diverse roles you fulfil

A stay-at-home parent is many, many things rolled into 1: childminder, teacher, doctor, cook, domestic cleaner, laundry service, taxi, gardener, dog walker, accountant, counsellor, personal shopper……the list goes on and on and on.

Do you appreciate your financial worth?

Some estimate the salary of a stay-at-home parent to be approximately worth £80,000 a year!

Think about your average workday. Mine looks something like this:

  • 3 hours cleaning, tidying and washing up
  • 2 hours preparing and cooking food
  • 1.5 hours cleaning and ironing clothes
  • 1-hour food shopping
  • 30 mins gardening
  • 45 mins taxi service
  • 30 mins helping the kids with school work
  • On call for the children 24/7.

What if the worst were to happen, could your partner cover all these roles?

If not, could they afford a cleaner, a gardener, childcare, nursery fees……..?

If you’re one of the millions of parents in the UK without any life insurance protection, why not take out a policy today?

Then get on with the important things in life, like enjoying your family and friends, safe in the knowledge your loved ones are fully protected.

I don’t need life insurance protection
