How to make food fun and healthy for kids with Little Yeos

zb3My kids love to get out and about in the fresh air doing anything from bike rides, football and tennis to bouncing on odd orange balls!

Both my son and daughter have regular exercise and I think this is so  important. It helps their little bodies be strong and tough and it teaches them about discipline and commitment.

Mostly though they love to play outside, it is just really really good fun and makes them smile.


Just being outside in the fresh air and amongst nature has it’s own benefits. I love to teach them about growing flowers and fruit and we love to craft from nature too.


Both my children are vegetarian and we have to really consider their diet. As they get older it’s really important they make good food choices for themselves.  I try and talk to them about healthy food and involve them in preparing healthy food whenever the opportunity arises.

Here is A making her daddy a breakfast berry jar. She enjoys making food for people and we keep it simple nutritious and fun. I think when children are involved in making food they give it a lot more thought.

A is rightly proud of what she makes and this will encourage her hopefully to always see the value in preparing food. I absolutely make sure my son does this too and I am really hoping this means when they are older and more independent they will continue to eat well .

It o important not to  worry about the mess they make in the process too (though she did go to school with a big strawberry stain on her top..oops)
