Aqua Sana Spa at Sherwood Forest, Center Parcs.

Whilst on our recent trip to Center Parcs I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to review the Aqua Sana Spa. My childrens grandparents popped along for the affternoon and took them swimming and exploring whilst my husband and I got t a 3hr spa experience. How absolutely wonderful.

The Spa is set in the gorgeous forest and is absolutely serene. It is a relaxed and calm atmpsphere from the moment you walk in.  Towels and waffle robes are provided and even the changing rooms are lovely (that really matters to me for some reason!)

Let me tell you about some of the lovely features we experienced at the spa. First pf all we had a little reflexology foot spa which was delighful just to help us relax.

Aqua Sana

Then we headed for the multi sensory showers. These were amazing and we used them many times between the heat rooms. You could set them to tropical  (big droplets of warm water and lush scents)  you could set it to just rain (cold!) fresh (a fine mist) or activate the side jets to give you that all over experience. I so want one of these in my house!

We went in the pool after this and it was lovely and warm, relatively empty and with  water jet massagers all around it. So nice to swim outside too.

The ice fountain was also blissfull after the heat rooms and you could just take big chunks of ice flakes to cool you down.  I loved dipping my towel in the ornage scented ice and pressing it to my face- so refeshing! I will be doing this this summer on a hot day in my garden and pretend I am back at the Aqua Sana.

The potential for falling asleep at this spa is huge and the water beds were deeply relaxing. A couple were occupied by sleepers the entire time we were there!

You can also lounge outside on dreamily soft loungers wrapped in warm comforters in the fresh forest air. Perfect.  Some people had books, some had their eyes closed and somewere just taking in the wonderful scenary.

There is also a beautiful Zen garden to meditate , talk softly wander about or sit in too. Ho wlovely. ( It would never ork at home though, footballs giant chalk, mud baths or the hippos!)

There are actually 16 treatment rooms at the spa and it is set over 2 levels. I’m going to tell you about a couple of my favourite but it is well worth exploring them all – as long as you don’t fall asleep.

The Indian Blossom Steam Roon

The temperature in this room is around 45ºC with a humidity of 90-100%. As you enter, the fresh aromas of eucalyptus and menthol will help you to gently perspire and assist in clear breathing. It has glittery lights too. I felt invigorated and clear headed after this.

Four Senses Lounges

Unique to Sherwood forest there are 2  loungers in this room and they light up gently rumble and pulse to stimulate all your senses. an unusual deeply relaxing experience that makes you feel wonderful.

Aqua Meditation Room

In this room water droplets fall from the ceiling and cause a constant moving of the water surface, which is reflected to the walls and ceiling creating a very peaceful atmosphere meditation is assisted by the refreshing scent of lemons, which will help to invigorate the mind, restore energy levels and uplift the spirit.

What a fabulous place. I should like to come at least once a week to rest my spirit and feel renewed, it is an absolute treat.

After all this we went along to the Zilli cafe where we indulged in cake and coffee (me) and salads and fresh juice (my husband) all were delicious. There was a fine mix of food, good pricing and we thought it a  lovely cafe. We sat in our robes in the filled with light cafe and we were happy. The staff, as everywhere at Center Parcs, were polite pleasant and helpful. It makes such a difference.
