How Can I Commemorate the First Few Weeks of My Baby Whilst on a Budget?

When you have recently given birth to a baby, you may want those precious moments to last forever, especially when you factor in how quickly a child can grow. While it might not be possible to pause time, there are ways that you can keep hold of those initial memories to look back on in the future. If money is a bit of an issue, you might want to think about the options that can cost as little as possible, while having a big effect on your life.

How Can I Commemorate the First Few Weeks of My Baby Whilst on a Budget

You may have already noticed how your baby has certain features that remind you of yourself or the other parent. They could also have the most adorable sleeping face you have ever seen. While some aspects of their appearance may not change, others can alter as they grow. Due to this, you might have taken a number of different photos of your baby within their first few days or weeks of life. Rather than leaving them in your chosen storage platform, you might want to showcase them within your home. Ordering a number of cool photo print shapes could allow you to display them around your home. You may even be able to create a mosaic, or other patterns, with your canvasses, and keep the cost down too.

As with the facial features, your baby will probably have adorably tiny fingers and toes. These may not stay this small for long, and it can be easy to forget just how little your child once was. Rather than spending money on expensive kits, you might want to think about making your own salt dough at home, so that you can take impressions of your baby’s hands and feet. When doing this, it can be important to push down gently, as your baby will still be quite fragile. You might also want to make sure you wash off any residue afterwards, especially if your baby has a tendency to put their hands in their mouth, as the salt content could make them unwell. If you wish, salt dough ornaments can also be painted once they have been baked to add a bit of colour.

Alongside all the work you might be doing to look after your baby, it is important not to forget about yourself. Raising an infant can be incredibly hard on both your mind and body, and it may sometimes feel like you have little time or energy to spare. One of the other important ways to commemorate your new baby can also be to appreciate the work and dedication you have put in. Not only are you caring for a newborn, but you have also just finished creating that life within yourself. Spending a bit of time on self-care can be important to boost your mood.

Those first few weeks of life can often be quite a sharp learning curve, especially for first-time parents. Even so, it can be important to cherish each second, as your baby might be fully grown in what seems like no time at all.
