Looking good whilst keeping fit
As a new mum I would work out in my baggiest t-shirts and my worn out jogging bottoms. I didn’t care. I did not have much money at the time and just wanted to be comfy. Have to say that whilst they certainly weren’t tight or uncomfortable I most certainly did not look good whilst keeping fit!
I find there is a real correlation between how I look and feel on two levels.
Why looking good can make you feel good
Firstly I feel comfortable and at ease if the clothes I wear do the job they were designed for. so rather than big t-shirts flapping about in the breeze, fitted and airy sports clothes really do facilitate my exercising.
I also know that looking good makes you feel good. For example if I go and have my hair down it makes me smile and feel happy positive and confident. Similarly having nice sports wear makes me feel better about exercising. There is a psychological shift and I feel upbeat prepared and that I look the part. This really does seem to make a difference to how I perform too.I think I feel more ‘ready for it somehow.
There are so many lovely gym clothes out there and women’s fitness clothes are a fashion trend all of their own
They have come such a long way since those big PE knicker things I had to wear at school! It may take quite a bit of exercising before I can wear one of these though….
Looking good whilst keeping fit keeps you committed to fitness
I see fitness clothes as a commitment to fitness and an investment in it. You put on a swimsuit to swim, a hat to cycle, riding clothes to ride a horse.
Having fitness clothes gets you in the mood to exercise is a way a baggy old t-shirt can make you want to veg out on the sofa!

I am a bagging tshirt exerciser mainly because I am not confident to wear anything else although I do love all the different styles out there for fitness clothes xxx
