I am not a believer in commercializing romance. I’m really not but just the same as I dont think Christmas is all about gifts I still feel I have to join in.
No matter how I feel about the days itself I can’t not send my loved one a Valentines card. I would feel ‘wrong’ and I know he would feel a bit sad. So to combat the commercialism I try to keep things simple and heartfelt.
I will make him some valentines chocolates like these I have seen at the super stylish Ana Mum Diary blog.

Don’t they just look truly scrumptious.
And I have written him a little love letter. I know that is soppy and maybe even a tad cheesy but I also know he will keep it forever and totally love it.
I have also made this super simple homemade Valentine card.

You cannot beat a bit of home crafting and I love using buttons. This is one very simple card to make.
It doesn’t take much to show you love someone. It doesn’t have to be commercial or tacky or expensive.
Simple can be very sweet and of course it can also be very inexpensive.
Aw that is so lovely. I love making button cards, they look really effective
Ahh that’s lovely 🙂 We are not too big on Valentines day in this house either, but we always do cards, and a handmade one would be a lovely touch. Now to find my jar of buttons…
looks perfect to me!
Ahh, that is absolutely lovely – not being a crafty person simple is most certainly good for me 😉
I do love handmade cards…so special!
A simple but effective way to make a Valentine’s card, I’ve got a box of buttons so will have to give this a go.
I love this idea and keep meaning to do something similar using buttons with Bethan as she has my Mum’s old button box x x
simple is often the very best and most treasured.
ahhhh too cute, i better get my backside into gear!
