An interview with Victoria Wilkinson
Hi, what’s your name? Victoria Wilkinson
Any kids? Yes 3!! Annabelle is 4, Callum is 2 and Joseph is 7 months
Do you work? FT/PT? I am a stay at home mum and have been since I had my first child.
If you don’t work why don’t you? If I worked then I would be giving all my money to childcare and that is with one child. It worked out better financially for me to be at home.
How do you manage for money? We are ok, times have been tough and budgeting has been the only answer. We only have the money for bills, food, petrol and a small bit of spends. Our last holiday was in 2009 and that was to visit my dad in France. We have been away to wales but as my grandparents own a holiday home that its been free stay.
Do you worry about money? Yes all the time, I worry about buying something I need.
What do you waste money on? I would say we should make all homemade food to cut down the food bill
Have you made any big financial changes since having kids? Not really we always have plodded along
How do you make extra cash? Selling preloved clothes and equipment when I have the time.
Can you share 3 top budgeting tips for other parents?
1. Always check mysupermarket.com for the best deals on everything
2. Sell preloved items from around the house
3. You can pick up some brilliant bargains on selling sites, why buy new?
