No Chocolate Advent Calendar Books

Today – advent calendar books

It’s not easy to find a no chocolate advent calendar!

It makes me sad that my kids get so excited about chocolate each day during advent and race to open their little window not thinking for a moment what picture is behind the door or the story being told. The eye is on the chocolate prize.

Well, this year I have been sent two gorgeous Advent calendar books to review and the children will each have one of these instead. They are so sweet.

Countdown to Christmas (Advent Calendar)

Countdown to Christmas (£5.99) Lion Hudon is an A4 size board book that tells the story of the nativity then opens up ina large scene of Bethlehem with advent calendar. Inside you can also find a large nativity scene to colour which is separate and can be stick on the wall. You get so much for your money and it is a beautiful advent calendar to have on display.  A really good way to share the story with your child too.

My Advent Calendar Christmas Book

My Advent Calender Christmas Book is another lovely unusual offering for advent. The front of the little hardback is an advent calendar and inside is the story of Jesus from Mary being visited by the angel to the wise men arriving. It’s very sweet and lovely for a little one to have during advent. This book is also £5.99  form Lion Hudson.

I just adore these Advent Calendar Books – you might even fancy making your own advent calendar

How lovely!! What a great idea!! I remember years ago getting an advent calendar with no chocolate in….Now a days it’s all about chocolate and not the story of Christmas x

Aww these look absolutely fabulous. I usually buy Stacey a picture advent calendar because my godmother always sends her a chocolate one.

This year Oscar is too young to understand but I think I’m still going to buy him one with pictures behind each door. He likes to look at things so it will be a way of getting him involved in the festivities 🙂
