Jewellery Box for Mother’s day
Little cardboard boxes can be bought very cheaply from places like Hobby craft for under £1. They are tremendous fun for kids to decorate and make a lovely gift for a child to give to their mummy. Here are some decorating ideas;
- Glueing on shells you have found on the beach
- Glueing on wildflowers which have been dried and pressed in a heavy book with kitchen towel either side of them. Once glued in place paint a watery glue layer over the top to protect them. Petunias, pansies daisies and lavender all work well as dried flowers.
- Sticking on buttons or craft jewels can also look very pretty. If you paint the box painting over the top with glitter glue will give a lovely shiny effect.
- If your child writes mummy onto the box and you very carefully glue over it they can glitter on it and it looks fab. I’m not allowed to see the one for me so here is a daddy version I did with the kids:

I love staying home with my children, and don’t miss the office at all. With my girls growing up – they’re all into costume jewellery, and this jewellery box is a good idea for them to make. Thanks.
