Frankie is my son and he is 9.
I am expecting him to know a thing or two about money….let’s see

How much pocket money do you get Frankie? £2
Is that enough ? No because things are expensive
How much do you think you should get? £3.50 (after this interview I moved it up to £2.50 after heavy negotiation!)
How much do you think mummy earns each year? Over £1000
How much do you think mummy’s car cost £25k ( its 12 year old punto)
How much do you think we spend on food each week? £350
How much do you think daddy earns? £5000
What do you want to be when you grow up Frankie? Maybe a teacher
How much do you think they earn? £2500
If I gave you £100 what would you spend it on? Sweets, Pokemon cards a DS game and a new DS for Annalise (Annalise is his little sister – oh what a sweetheart!)
Frankie what do you think being thrifty means? Saving money, recycling things and using them again like making craft from the recycling box and buying books from a charity shop ( aha…. he has been listening)
Should we give money to charity? Yes it’s kind to
Overall Frankie has shown he a good heart and an understanding of sharing resources and being careful with them. He’s not yet very clued up on what things cost. Not sure this matters if you are 9.though and how clever is he to get a pocket money riseout of this!

I love this. I really need to get G to do it – I bet her answers would be fascinating. She’d spend the £100 all on herself though, I’d bet – although it would be mostly on books!
Ah bless him! I love this series Becky – and it’s so encouraging to see how all the children know the importance of charity x
awww so sweet that he would buy his sister a present! i love also that he managed to negociate his pocket money being put up after the interview lol x
Frankie is such a wonderful looking boy and from his answers has a huge heart too
Awww well done Frankie – some super cute answers and love the fact he would but a new DS for his sister – but not as much as I love his hair – THAT IS AMAZING HAIR!!!!!!
Aww bless him, I love that he would buy a game for his sister… he will make a good husband one day
Aww they’re lovely answers, it’s so sweet that he’d use his money to make his little sister happy x
I so need to do this with my children. It’d be interesting to see the differences in ages.
Frankie is very sweet – especially sharing with his sister.
Aw bless him. It’s clear he does have a good heart, and even if he doesn’t know the scale of it yet he is still showing a good understanding. I’m sure my little one would say exactly the same for the £100; loves pokemon cards hehe.
