The things I love about snow is threefold:

    1. Snow always looks so clean and pure something we haven’t managed to ruin as society just yet!
    2. Playing in snow = feeling cold therefore free rein for hot chocolate and cake.
    3. If it snows I might get a sneaky day off work!! 🙂

Looking out of the window to see everything covered in white on a day I’m not working then being the first out to walk on the crisp new snow, hearing it crunch underfoot…magical. Now my daughter is nearly 3 also looking forward to building a snow animal in the garden like I did as a child with my Mum, Dad and big brother.

I’ve always loved the snow. for the fun that can be had, and these days the wonderful camaraderie when everyone in the village has to walk everywhere and we get to talk to people who we wouldn’t otherwise cos we’re too busy whizzing round in our cars normally!!

I love how magical everything looks in the snow. How even the scruffiest of estates in Salford, one of the most deprived areas in Britain, looks like a winter wonderland under the cover of snow.

The thing I love most about the snow is that it reminds me of my childhood. Wrapping up in layers of clothes to go out and have fun in the magical white carpet that coverd the ground. Then coming home in time to watch The Snowman every Christmas Eve.

I’m normally in a hot country during Christmas (as my dad is a modern day Scrooge and mum works for an airline) )so on the rare occasion when I am in England when it snows I feel more grateful and it feels more of a blessing because it’s something beautiful and natural that I don’t get to experience often as I miss it when it’s here.

  314. November 22, 2012 / 7:50 pm

Ive just put this on facebook lol – for me the snowman reminds me of my childhood – I watched it all year round not just at christmas. Everytim I watched it I would cry at the end – so much so that my dad had to record chitty chitty bang bang to follow on so I would quickly get over it. My favourite part of the movie is ‘the walking in the air part’ the animation through out is fantastic though this part is the best! I also love the movie ‘where the wind blows’ and ‘farther christmas’ Raymond Briggs is a wonderful, un sung creator in my opinion – thank you for the chance to win this 🙂 Emma Sherlock

I love watching my children make snow angels and the excitement on their faces when they wake up to snow and know they can go and play and make Snow angels

I love the feeling of fresh snow when nobody else has walked on parts of it. And just jumping in it and it squishing in between your boots 🙂

I love the snow so much because it reminds me of my childhood, playing and rolling in it and most of all making a Snowman, using my mums’ clothing to keep him warm, just the feel of snow is so special, the joy it brings to others and the glisten on it when you look at it……snow is so so special to me.
