March is a month of hopes and promises of new life starting to shoot up and warm days whispering in the distance.
Embrace the weather
It seems to rain a lot in March and I think the rain is to be embraced with the glee of a child. Puddles are to be strode through a little too fast (and jumped in if you are feeling high spirited!)

Watch your favourite films
Because it’s March there will still be frosty days too when you can snuggle under blankets and watch lovely old familiar movies without feeling at all guilty. For me? Well I would watch The Wizard of Oz, Roman Holiday, The Sound of Music, Meet the Fockers, Flashdance and Big. Eclectic I know! Simple, funny, singalong, memory films. And oh I couldn’t miss Beaches and The Way We Were, I would snuggle in my blanket and have a big old weep.
Treat yourself to time with your favourite films and music they will make you feel so good.
Last week I wrote a blog post about my 8 favourite songs (my deserrt island discs) and do you know just bringing them back into my life and to the forefront of my mind made me happy for days.
‘Love Baby, Love’
Celebrate Mother’s Day
My mum is in heaven but still I celebrate her on Mothers day and everyday for the love and care and kindness she raised me with. Mother’s day is a beautiful day all about about honouring and respecting the mothers who loved us . If your own mother wasn’t there for you maybe there is another woman who guided you who you want to give thanks to?
A little bunch of March’s wonderful daffodils and a letter of gratitude and love make a simple and most wonderful gift

Prepare for the spring
Towards the end of this month (20 March to be exact ) Spring arrives and with it animals wale up and flowers begin to flourish. Blossom is on the trees, daylight lasts longer and we all wake up a little more. We have planted some seeds in preparation for days of salads and alfresco dining and we have put out food for the birds.
Simple things indeed but how lovely is the anticipated pleasures of a garden filled with song and vegetables we have grown ourselves on our plates.

I wish you a beautiful month full of simple ideas for a rich life

Love this post- so positive! Will take some of that on with me through the month- and we are all expert puddle jumpers now- I just need to remember the joy in it more often!
Yes!! SO need to start on our seedlings ASAP!! In fact, may do so after school today!
Puddles! I really miss jumping in puddles. I wish it was more acceptable for adults to jump in puddles. One of life’s simple pleasures. That and kicking leaves.

What a beautiful post, especially how positively you look at Mother’s Day without your own being around still xx
We’ve done it again 🙂 I love your simple ideas, I’m VERY behind with seed planting and this has prompted me to get a move on so I don’t miss out on that wonderful pleasure of picking my own fresh salad daily in the summer!
what a fab motivational and inspiring post for this month,. i always think a bunch of dafodils really cheer up the house and i also love seeing them poking up from the long grass when i am out and about. and yes puddles should be embraced by splashing in them with wellies on! thank you for the ideas x
Oooooh I have just been inspired to prep for spring and do some planting with the kids! Thank You!
Spring is such a lovely positive time so this post is perfectly timed! Really, really lovely Becky x
I love March, the time for nice walks and getting prepared for the summer x
…and I wish YOU a beautiful month too.
I checked my seed box today to see what needs buying and I also stopped and considered that I wouldn’t be turning off the heating just yet too – it must be that Great Minds thing Becky, what do you say?
A positive way to think of March, I’m looking forward to getting my first bunch of Daffodils of the year

You happy camper you, I love your ideas and right now I wish I had more time for simple stuff! coming home to daffodils was amazing last weekend. Is it mother’s day soon, here’s to our mums! xx
i love how you called your post! great advice Becky! i love march because of what it is though…not too cold or too warm.
Oh this is such a lovely post Becky 🙂 I think after all the extravagance of Christmas and the winter, it’s so nice to strip everything back to nice, fresh and simple. You’ve totally inspired me to set a date with myself to curl up in front of my favourite film 🙂
I think puddle jumping should be prescribed by GP’s and every household should have a bunch of daffodils delivered in March just because. Those small things make such a phenomenal difference
That has completely cheered by up. What a lovely post. Sorry about your mum xx
