It’s Friday. Yay!
Always a lovely day, so an absolutely pleasure to share with you some fantastic blog posts I have been reading this week….. my Friday Finds.
Friday Finds is a project between myself and 3 other wonderful bloggers Ruth Chris and Liz Every Friday one of us will put together a list of Friday Finds 10 blog posts we had enjoyed reading recently and then share them with you on our blog.
So do get comfy and come and have a look at my picks for this week. I have chosen some funny, some informative, some moving and some powerful posts to share with you and one or two that just spoke to me.
Oh I do love blogging! So many different posts to read.
Emily at More Than Just a Mother writes this past week about her children’s leap day birthday in Happy Sort of Birthday and she tells us how she changed a life in Peru! Fabulous!
I’ve not watched Mary and Martha myself but Michelle at Mummy from the Heart writes a very powerful post Every parent feels the same pain urging us to do so and to take a stand against malaria. She is asking people to checkout Malaria No More after empathising with the horror and pain the children who die from this preventable disease must feel
I’m sure its probably against some rule book to link to one of my posting partners here but I can’t not (and we have no rule book!) Ruth’s post on International Womens Day 2013 (which is today) is all about a celebration of sisterhood, friends, colleagues, guardian angels and mums. It’s good to say thank you and acknowledge the women that uphold and shape us and Ruth’s post does just that.
Over at Goriami, Vita is looking forward to the weekend and reflecting on weekends past in Nostalgic weekends We used to get lots of newspapers, bike ride and drink endless coffee in a little french cafe pre-kids. Sigh.
Cat at Yellow days has shared her recipe for Skinny blueberry muffins with lemon icing. These look divine and they have skinny in the title so they must be good for the diet! She’s has had a gorgeous blog makeover too. Nice job Cat.
Over at Ghostwriter Mummy Susanne has been creatively playing with her little one using objects to hand. This made me smile with recognition, ever the thrifty mum I did just the same. Cereal Play is a top idea and a lovely memory to capture of a fleeting time.
Lovely Lexy is getting married and is in, well a bit of a flap, for lots of reasons. A Hitch in the Fairytale made me laugh and cry just as she always does over at Mammywoo
Over at Free our Kids Harriet hosts a swapping party and opens her house to virtual strangers. Interesting to see how she got on and how the swapping worked
This week has been World Book Day and many children have been struggling with their fancy dress Amanda at the Ana Mum Dairy’s daughter the lovely Miss N is rocking the Katniss Everdeen look in a cheap chic and very cool outfit. Inspired!
Jane at Northern Mum shares More things the NCT never told me and I laughed along in absolute agreement particularly aboutTHAT HUGE FIB … breastfeeding makes you thin! ha ha ha! A must read.
And then I come to Jennie at Edspire, who has blogged her way through her grief and who all our hearts go out to. Jennie wrote this post this week My blog My grief Me , There are many rules and expectations around grieving but Jennie has followed her own path and many women will find it easier to grieve openly inspired by her.
So on International Womans Day I would like to celebrate Jennie; the mother, writer and campaigner. She has been honest, strong, thankful and eloquent in the midst of her heartbreaking loss.
You are quite a woman Jennie and we are right here standing beside you, arms interlinked.
P.S -For the ladies who read this
