The cost of running a home can just feel all too much can’t it? Does it get you down. I find by organizing myself and my budget really well we manage on what we have but I really do have to keep on top of things.
Take a peek at the infographic below. Its an interesting look at the average costs involved in running a home each year. My energy bills are much higher than that but two of us do work from home. How does it compare to your costs?
On top of all these basic food is probably the biggest expense in our house and then of course you have to factor in clothes, activities, home essentials (I’m thinking toilet roll) then you ave running a car and so on. sigh. It is a lot to sot and organise but it is SO important to know where your money gos and what you really do or don’t have spare each month.

In case you havent heard of them the Money Advice Service was set up by the government to help people manage their finances – they offer free advice to the public on everything from buying a home to maternity and paternity rights. A handy contact to have.
Our water bills are higher than the infographic, and I think our energy is probably just about on par with that figure there.
OMG My water bill is around £500 per year?!?That’s only for myself, my husband and a baby.. But we have a family staying over quite a lot:(
