Size Genie – A £20 device that ensures you buy the right size clothes

Oh thrifty fashion loving mums this is just perfect for you !

Let me introduce you to this amazing  low cost personal body scanner that’s just launched on Kickstarter.

It aims to change the way people buy clothes online – ensuring they can always get the right size. It’s perfect for mums with little time but still want to look good, those who want to order online but have neither the time or energy to keep sending items back and forth.

What an outstanding idea..so useful and I just love the fact it is so cheap too.

The personal scanner has been developed by a team of scientists in Switzerland, who drew on  infra-red scanners and body scanning technology used for medical purposes. The scanner is able give  34 precise measurements needed for perfectly fitting clothes.  It is super simple to use too. You just plug it into a computer, stand in front of the camera and turn yourself around as directed and hey presto! -measurements are provided within moments.

How clever!

Longer term the developers are wanting to work with brands  to collect their size information into a central database. This would allow customers to scan themselves with the device and get immediate advice as to which size would be the best fit for their favourite designers and brands.

The scanner has endorsed by fashion designer Angela Missoni who has said,

“the possibility to simply and rapidly capture one’s measurements has the potential to revolutionise the way we conceive of and participate in e-commerce,” .

I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these. It really will make online shopping so much easier.

Amazing idea!!! And for £20 absolute bargain. The amount of time saved trying to measure yourself/ kids and time spent sending things back that don’t fit aswell as the disappointment after looking forward to an item only to have to return it.

Goodness, that IS clever! I am put off online shopping so often by the possibility of ill fitting clothes and the faff of returning them – and my OH will insist on buying things which are the wrong size and then looking at me expectantly as if I’m going to alter them!
